Weight Loss Equipment Helps You Lose Weight Faster
Weight loss equipment can be as simple as a jump rope or as complicated as a home gym. The cost of the equipment
can vary from a few dollars—or free if you use large cans as weights—to thousands of dollars. However, the real
test is not the price you pay for the exercise equipment or how much it does. The real test is how much you use
it.
No piece of weight loss equipment is beneficial unless you use it and follow a plan of eating that includes a
balanced and lower calorie diet. However, if you’re on a budget, some
equipment is better for the budget and still can give you a decent workout.
Exercise Balls
If you want a good workout that not only aids in weight loss but builds your core muscles too, consider
investing in one of the many exercise balls. These types of balls have many different names, but one of them is
stability balls. There is a wide variety of these balls from the large Swiss ball to the smaller Bender ball, these stability balls. You can use the balls for more than just exercising
your core muscles. They are also good for increasing the strength of your lower body, such as the glutes,
hamstrings or the quadriceps. You can also have a good upper body workout if you incorporate the ball with a push
up or other upper body exercise.
Stability balls are also good for improving your balance, flexibility and agility. When you do exercises with
the ball, it burns far more calories too. That’s because it works more muscles than doing the regular exercise
does. That makes them the perfect piece of equipment for those trying to lose weight. The best part is that the
cost is minimal compared to other types of exercise equipment.
A Jump Rope
There’s nothing simple about jumping rope for extended periods. Just like a Hula Hoop or other child’s toy
requiring physical effort, the jump rope can be an inexpensive piece of exercise equipment that gives you a
thorough workout.
Weights
When you move muscles, it burns more calories than when you move fat. That’s why adding weights to any aerobic
workout or carrying them while running can increase the amount of calories you use. That’s why the purchase of easy
to use kettle bells can come in handy when you’re trying to
lose weight. There are weights you hold, such as dumbbells and those you strap onto your arms, legs or waist. These
make other exercises more taxing and difficult but they do give you a good workout.
One additional benefit of training with weights is the prevention and reversal of osteoporosis. Using weight
bearing exercises not only builds the muscle mass, or at least retains the mass you lose as you age, it also
maintains your bone mass. In addition, it makes your muscles work more efficiently and improves not only your
strength but also your balance, stamina and flexibility. It’s an aid to prevent injury, since it increases your
muscle tone.
If you can’t afford weights, you’ll find large canned goods make simple weights. You can pump a large can of
pork and beans and know you’ll be losing those pounds
Exercise Machines
Some really amazing exercise machines exist. There are the traditional treadmills and
full gym exercise machines, but there are also some unique innovations in exercise machines for those whom
are busy. One machine, the Trekdesk Treadmill workstation, combines a desk with a treadmill so you can go to work,
but instead of your derriere spreading from sitting, you’ll get a complete workout as you stand and walk at your
desk. A low cost version of this machine called the Desk Exerciser, lets you peddle away the pounds no matter where
you’re sitting.
Another similarly unique machine, called the VQ Action Care Resistance chair offers pulleys and other
additions to work not only the core muscles when you want to take a break at work; you can also workout your legs
and upper body. That’s far better than jumping up to get a snack from the machine.
Of course, home gyms are the ultimate in exercise equipment, but may make you run when you see the price.
However, that’s good exercise too. I guess whether you purchase one or simply run from the price, a home gym is the
ultimate in weight loss equipment.
